| These restricted legacy funds are impacting lives today and will continue to do so in the future. These two special funds, established by caring families in our community, honor the memory of two young men who lost their battles with addiction, and manifest our vision by supporting necessary alcohol and substance use prevention education, resiliency training and treatment services for individuals and families.
Sam Hamill Memorial Treatment Scholarship Fund
Established in memory of Sam Hamill. Your gifts of hope and healing directly benefit individuals and families who lack the adequate financial resources to access the treatment they so desperately want. We are grateful to the Hamill family who give the gift of recovery to those who receive treatment scholarships at the Acadia Family Center each year.
Nathan Bright Keegan Memorial Education Fund
Established in memory of Nathan Bright Keegan. Your gifts of strength and resiliency directly benefit children and island youth through the Resiliency Initiative. The Resiliency Initiative is an island wide initiative founded on the belief that as a community we will decrease substance abuse and related mental health disorders by identifying and developing our strengths both as individuals and within our community. This is accomplished by multiple organizations working together to identify and develop community resources and increase access to those resources. We are grateful to the Keegan family who give our island youth the ability to bounce back from adversity. |
