Acadia Family Center and Bar Harbor Fire Dept. offer Narcan training

The Mount Desert Island community is invited to attend a free Narcan training on Wednesday, Jan. 24 at 6 p.m. on Acadia Family Center, 1 Fernald Point Road, Southwest Harbor. The training is provided in partnership with the Bar Harbor Fire Department and will be conducted by John Lennon, assistant chief.

Attendees will learn how to prevent an opioid overdose by administering nasal Narcan and will receive information on how to obtain Narcan. Everyone who attends the training will be given Narcan to carry. The training will last approximately 1 hour.

By equipping individuals with Narcan and training to identify and respond to an overdose, the potential delay between the onset of an opioid overdose and the delivery of life-saving care can be reduced.

This event is open to everyone. No registration is required. Refreshments will be served. For information, email AFC info@acadiafamilycenter.org or call 207-244-4012.
